Project no.: 1752 / Cod SMIS – CSNR 47532

Duration: 2013-2015 (21 months)

Project director: Prof. univ. dr. Nicolae Jula

Project manager (INSOFT): Alexandru Sofronia

Short description of the project: The main objective of the project is to create a complex IT&C program for aerial monitoring of the networks that transport energy, oil and gas in order to automatically detect any potential flaws and evaluate their consequences. In the national networks important losses often occur during transportation, and the project’s objective is to enhance the monitoring and control processes and to provide specific programs to develop the professional expertise of the human resources involved in the activities.

Innovative features:

  • a process for signal and image processing for detecting flaws;
  • innovative data transmission systems between ground and flight support;
  • automatic flight command based on maps implemented at every flight;
  • signaling of flaws and automatically return of the autonomous air system back to the section where the flaw was detected;
  • the innovative implementation of algorithms that evaluate the networks’ losses, based on the results of the monitoring process;
  • creating a portal that integrates information from each monitored system.
